The Best Pet Travel Gear
We have tested and approved all of the items below.
Our favourite place to buy items is Paws on Cook, in the Cook Street Village, Victoria, B.C.

Best Travel Tent
We have had this tent for several years now and wouldn’t go anywhere without it! It has become like a little sanctuary, anytime it is set up there is a little piece of home.
One thing to note:
The only issue was that when we received it, it smelled funny, but once we hand washed it, it was fine.
Best Water Bottle
We have tried several different water bottles and this one really stands out. We know it seems odd given airport regulations to recommend a water bottle, but once through security you can refill and you’re set with a built in bowl – the bowl simply screws onto the bottom of the bottle.
Best Pet Carrier
We have tried many different carriers, hard shell, soft shell – this has been the easiest and most versatile.
Best Hands-Free Leash
We have had regular leashes and they were a pain. We find retractable leashes to be rude and so we found the perfect solution in a hands free leash. We can carry all our luggage and stay connected and make sure we are going to the right place.
Best Dog Treats
Grandpaw’s treats are made from human grade meat that is primarily sourced on Vancouver Island, BC. If they can’t find what they want there – they only get meat from Canada.
Best Cat Treats
Dehydrated Protein Sardines Treat For Cats & Dogs By Granville Island Treatery. These tiny fish are packed with fish oil which is excellent for your furry friends coat and skin – which travel and different climate can reek havoc on.
Best Re-Usable Pee Pads
No matter how well trained your animal is, accidents can happen and so we realize that in travelling these are excellent for putting into crates to avoid any big mess.
Best Poop Bags
Although there are many brands and types of poop bags out there, these remain the best.
Best Doggy Diapers
We realize that in travelling sometimes these are a must as they are required on certain flights.
Best Cat Harness
Cat’s should not wear the same harnesses as dogs as they are designed for different bodies. As well cat harnesses are designed to be more difficult to get out of.
Best Pet Backpack
We realized having a second option for a carrier is very helpful. The backpack style allows for long days of exploring while allowing your pet to rest when needed.
